AVL Beer Week 2018 Flight & Bites with Chef Dan Silo

Habitat Brewing Co invites you to come sit down in our beautiful downtown Asheville Tavern & Commons to enjoy a flight and small plates pairing! Chef Dan Silo, most recently a sous chef at Buxton Hall and The Admiral before that, will be creating a special Asheville Beer Week menu of four small plates to pair with four Habitat brews. This is a seated beer dinner event, so ticket quantity is limited. A percentage of the ticket sales will benefit Hood Huggers International, a a social enterprise that provides opportunities for young people while helping to spark more grassroots economic development in these resilient communities.

More about the Brewery:

Habitat Brewing Co opened in November of 2016 and is located on Broadway St at the north end of downtown. Habitat Brewing strives to craft classic and quality ales while also offering a warm and welcoming place to enjoy a beer and genuine conversation. Habitat Brewing offers 5 house beers, a rotating list of guest taps, wine, as well as a local kombucha and ginger ale. The tavern houses the bar and brew area, while the adjoining Commons room often holds neighborhood events, dances, weddings, workshops, and parties. Ample parking is available out back after 5pm and on the weekends.

More about the Chef:

Most recently a sous chef at Buxton Hall, Dan moved to Asheville six years ago and has worked at Seven Sows, the Admiral, and the Punk Wok and Thunderbird pop-ups at MG Road. Dan arrived in Asheville following an eight month road trip across the US, including stages at McCrady's in Charleston, Empire State South in Atlanta, Animal and Son of a Gun in LA, and a summer at Red Bird Provisions in Northeast Harbor, Maine. Prior to the road trip, he spent nearly two years at Lula Cafe in Chicago and a year at Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore. He started cooking behind the fish counter of a grocery store in his hometown of Albany, NY, and is a graduate of the hospitality program at Syracuse University. Dan and his wife Nora are currently working on a new restaurant project in Asheville, slated to open in late 2018.
