habitat brewing co.

We are a tavern and community commons in north Asheville committed to brewing excellent classical style beers and making space for the village to gather and be in community. We are hoping to open our doors in Spring 2016.

This Week @ Habitat Brewing Co.

We are open all 7 days of the week, starting at 3pm each day except on Saturday and Sunday when we open at 12 Noon. We close at 10 most days, except for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and we close at midnight those nights. Check out what cool stuff we've got for you this week over at the Tavern and Commons!

Tuesday is our regular QiGong class with Alan from 10:30-11:30am. The class is only $10 for the hour and you'll leave feeling more centered and grounded for the day. It's a great opportunity to take care of yourself and meet others in the process.

Also on Tuesday, our monthly, Pint with a Professor returns to it's regular spot on first Tuesdays. This month will feature H. David Clarke from UNC Asheville's Biology department. Dr. Clarke will be talking about his time in the rainforests of South America and bringing his passion for conversation and preservation of biodiversity. He also brings a wealth of local research and work around the areas of non-native plants impact on the region, particularly on shrinking numbers of plants that are native to this area such as American Ginseng and Virginia Spiraea.

Art Change - This week will mark the transition from our artist for the past month Clem Penland, whose drawings of faces have been with us. Clem is an incredible young person, still in high school, who showed a lot of courage to show their work in public in this space. We're so grateful for their willingness and glad that we could support a blossoming person and artist. The shift will be dramatic as we welcome Victor Palomino, whose work was most recently hanging at DeSoto Lounge in West Asheville. Look for his opening next week on Wednesday the 9th!

Habitat @ Habitat Friday & Saturday!! It only makes sense that Habitat Brewing Co. and Habitat for Humanity would team up at some point. This weekend will mark our first attempt as we host a couple of events for The House that Beer Built! Friday night from 7-10 is Brews, Studs, and Live Tunes. $1 per pint of select Habitat brews will be donated to this project and a wall of studs will be constructed that guests can nail a dollar to for the construction of this house. Music performed by Dirty Badgers acoustic duo! Saturday from 3-5pm will be Trivia, so bring out the family, have a pint and continue to support Habitat for Humanity in conjunction with the Asheville Brewer's Alliance and the whole Asheville beer community!
