habitat brewing co.

We are a tavern and community commons in north Asheville committed to brewing excellent classical style beers and making space for the village to gather and be in community. We are hoping to open our doors in Spring 2016.

Copy of This Week @ Habitat Brewing Co.

We are open all 7 days of the week, starting at 3pm each day except on Saturday and Sunday when we open at 12 Noon. We close at 10 most days, except for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and we close at midnight those nights. Check out what cool stuff we've got for you this week over at the Tavern and Commons!

The Month of August | $1 of every pint of the English IPA goes to Habitat for Humanity for their "House that Beer Built" project, which is being supported by a number of breweries around the Asheville area this year and next. So when you come in, consider supporting a great cause to help folks in need of affordable housing.

It is $10/class, but if you come in and purchase 10 classes, you'll receive a 25% discount on the total.

thursday 8/31

Jeff Mason is bringing back SPOILER ALERT! this Thursday night. This is like a live version of Mystery Science where a terrible movie is played and local comedians make commentary on the spot! Free popcorn to go along with your pint from the Tavern make for a perfect bad movie watching experience.

saturday 9/2

This Saturday is a full lineup at Habitat and everything kicks off with another Beer City Behavior session with the Asheville Humane Society. Elliot Weiner, PhD, CPDT-KA and Asheville Humane Society volunteer will be with us this Saturday from 3-5pm to teach and discuss some techniques and games that will make your dog think while also training and entertaining him/her. Mental exercise keeps our dogs from going too far up the arousal scale and making bad decisions. Elliot will teach you and your dog how to think and have fun. Grab a beer, and spend the first hour with him thinking and playing, and stick around for additional questions/play time!

All dogs who are comfortable in this type of social setting are welcome to join. Please note, if your dog does not like to be around large groups of people and dogs, please leave them at home where they will be more comfortable. The trainer will be happy to give you some tips and tricks of things you can do in your home to help with any behavior problems. Please have a leash on hand for entering and leaving this event as well, as we like to keep our patrons and pups happy and safe at all times!

Art Exhibition 5-7pm

Chris Philips, our newest local artist will be hanging his work this week and will be with us Saturday to tell us all about his work. Come in and meet the artist whose work you'll be seeing around the space during September.

The artist Chris Phillips is a painter, musician and cat lover who was born January 25, 1988 and raised in the small rural factory town of Sanford, NC. Drawing is something that he's always loved, and eventually he turned to painting as his preferred medium. After spending some time working odd jobs and touring with a band he turned full time to the pursuit of painting, and earned his Bachelors in Arts from UNCA in 2016. His artwork is a mixture of drawing and loosely defined paintings usually with existential themes involving flowers, people and surreal circular paintings of himself cut in half revealing his inner essence. If you'd like to learn more about Chris, check out his website and portfolio here

Vinyl Night : a listening party 7-10pm

We provide the turntables, the sound system, the living room atmosphere, and the drinks. You provide the music for the evening! Bring in one or two of your favorite records on vinyl and share with a group of interested listeners. Do you have a story that goes along with your track? Even better! You can share with the group why you brought that song or album. Our first one was a huge success and we hope to build this into a monthly experience unlike anything else you'll find in Asheville. Our 'dj' for the night will curate the evening making sure to handly your record with care and make it sound better and fuller than you could ever imagine at home. Meet new friends or bring a group of friends with you and share the experience together.
